The Illusion Series (5 Book Series)
by D. Kelly
Even though it has been a wee bit since I’ve finished this rock star book series, I’m still emotional about it. This series gave me all the feels. There was not one emotion I didn’t feel throughout every single book in the series. Each character found a way to wreck me and put me back together again. It was so difficult waiting for each book to come out but luckily you won’t have to suffer like I did. Every single book is available right now. After you’ve finished each book, come back and check out my review. I’d love to hear your opinion on our rock star.
Publisher’s Noter of Just An Illusion Side A
One night changed her life… Bestselling author Amelia Greyson has grown up in the music industry and isn’t the slightest bit fazed by fame or celebrities. However, when she attends a Bastards and Dangerous concert with her best friend Belle, her world shifts on its axis. Double trouble… Sawyer and Noah Weston are the front men of BAD. They’re fraternal twins and sexy as sin. When they hear the author of The O Factor is in their green room, they’re intrigued. She’s just the person they need to write their farewell story.
The brothers offer Amelia the opportunity of a lifetime, which she reluctantly accepts. Three hearts… Noah is sweet and considerate, working hard to make Amelia feel at home on the road. Unfortunately, the closer they get, the more obnoxious Sawyer becomes. Sawyer is arrogant and distant and he wants Amelia, even though she’s not his for the taking. Only during stolen moments does Sawyer show her who he really is. Can Amelia maintain a safe distance from Sawyer and keep her heart intact? Or will she shatter Noah’s heart by giving hers to his brother instead?
by Kristen Callihan
Idol by Kristen Callihan is the book that made me fall in love with rock star romance books. There was something about the vulnerabilities in the main character, Killian, that tugged at my heart strings. This man screamed book boyfriend material. Your girl was off the market for a long time with Killian. This series if the perfect mixture of naughty and nice.
Publisher’s Note of Idol
Libby – I found Killian drunk and sprawled out on my lawn like some lost prince. With the face of a god and the arrogance to match, the pest won’t leave. Sexy, charming, and just a little bit dirty, he’s slowly wearing me down, making me crave more. He could be mine if I dare to claim him. Problem is, the world thinks he’s theirs. How do you keep an idol when everyone is intent on taking him away?
Killian – As lead singer for the biggest rock band in the world, I lived a life of dreams. It all fell apart with one fateful decision. Now everything is in shambles. Until Liberty. She’s grouchy, a recluse —and kind of cute. Scratch that. When I get my hands on her, she is scorching hot and more addictive than all the fans who’ve screamed my name. The world is clamoring for me to get back on stage, but I’m not willing to leave her. I’ve got to find a way to coax the hermit from her shell and keep her with me. Because, with Libby, everything has changed. Everything.
Drive by Kate Stewart
Drive by Kate Stewart is a rock star book like no other. If you are looking for angst, Drive is the book for you. I read this book in one sitting because it was just that good. I ignored the hubby and kids for “just one more chapter.” You know how it is. Are you looking for a standalone book? You’ve found it. It’s a true 5 STAR read!
Music . . . the heart’s greatest librarian. The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia. At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I’d always envisioned. I’d found my tempo, my rhythm.
Then I received a phone call that left me off key. You see, my favorite songs had a way of playing simultaneously. I was in love with one man’s beats and another’s lyrics. But when it came to the soundtrack of a life, how could anyone choose a favorite song? So, to erase any doubt, I ditched my first-class ticket and decided to take a drive, fixed on the rearview. Two days. One playlist. And the long road home to the man who was waiting for me.
Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas
Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas was absolutely superb. This is one of the best rock star romance books took me by surprise. This book had me from the first chapter, which is rare.Misha is a singer/song writer who isn’t looking for fortune and fame but just to write and express himself. Ryen is like the rest of us when we were teenagers. She’s unsure of herself and doesn’t know where she fits in. She wants to love and accepted, even though she doesn’t know who she is. It’s truly worth the read.
Misha – I can’t help but smile at the lyrics in her letter. She misses me. In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed. It didn’t take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever… And that was the start.
For the next seven years, it was us. Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there’s one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She’s the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am. We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it? Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name’s Ryen, loves Gallo’s pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances? F*ck it. I need to meet her.
I just don’t expect to hate what I find. Ryen. He hasn’t written in three months. Something’s wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch. Without him around, I’m going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It’s my own fault. I should’ve gotten his phone number or picture or something. He could be gone forever. Or right under my nose, and I wouldn’t even know it.
A Stone in the Sea by A.L. Jackson
A Stone in the Sea by A.L. Jackson was just what the doctor ordered at the time I read this rock star romance. You already know that with any book about rock stars there is always that one who had a fucked up childhood that scarred them for life, right? This book is no different. And it wouldn’t be a good rock star story if we didn’t have a beautiful woman who doesn’t care about his money or fame and loves him for him, right?
Publishers Note of A Stone in a Sea
Sunder lead singer Sebastian Stone is no stranger to trouble. It follows him wherever he goes. From his track record, he should have known Shea Bentley would be a problem. But the soft, innocent Southern girl was all he could see. All he wanted to see. Now they’re both drowning in a sea of desire, sinking hopelessly into a world of lust, and their passion refuses to let them up for air. No matter how much he wants that to be enough…Shea has an inescapable past. One she would do anything to keep running from. But some secrets never die. If her history is dragged from the depths, it could tear his world apart. He has to decide if she’s worth fighting the tide or if they should just sink like a stone in the sea. A Stone in the Sea is Book One in Shea & Sebastian’s two-part Duet.
