book of the month 2021

February 2021 Book of the Month choices are available now! It’s time to decide which of the five books you want to arrive at your door.

It’s time to pick your Book of the Month for February 2021. Book of the Month is my all-time favorite book subscription service. I’ve had many over the years but none compare to BOTM. BOTM for February is one of my favorites because true to form, BOTM is featuring 2 African American authors. For those who don’t know, February is Black History Month and seeing black authors always makes me smile.

Each month you are given a choice between 5 books. After 5 to 7 days a little blue box arrives with a little treasure inside. I normally have at least 2 beauties in my little blue box.

If you haven’t heard of Book of the Month or if you have yet to sign up, I’ll give you a wee bit of information about the subscription box.

Take a look at February Book of the Month 2021 option:

  • The Kindest Lie by Nancy Johnson – Contemporary Fiction

What is Book of the Month?

It’s a monthly subscription service that is extremely popular throughout the book community.

How does it work?

Each and every month a group of awesome book lovers get together and select 5 books, across different genres so share with us. Every now and then they’ll throw in a book that hasn’t been released yet. This always makes me feel special, like a VIP or something.

At the beginning of the month, you’ll head over to their website and select the book that you fancy the most. If you’re not a fan of a current month’s book you can skip that month and credit is added to your account which you can use the following month. If you happen to fancy more than one, you can order it as an add-on for a discounted rate. You can also choose to add-on a book from a previous month.

How much does it cost?

You get two different options. You can go with the monthly plan, like me, and get one credit a month for $14.99. If you’re brave, you can opt for the year plan that gives you 12 credits for $149.99, which saves you money in the long run. And shipping is always free!

Let’s set you have your eye set on an additional book, it’s only going to cost you $9.99.

Book of the Month often has a sale for new subscribers where your first month’s book is only $9.99. Feel free to use my referral link to get your first book for $5.00 anytime.

My Pick for February 2021 Book of the Month

I chose The Kindest Lie by Nancy Johnson and I can’t wait for it to arrive at my doorstep. It was an easy choice for me after reading the description. I am very excited to dive into the story. Something tells me that I will finish this book in one sitting.

Due to some really really awesome blog readers who used my referral link to join BOTM, I was able to get an add-on for free. Thank you so much, it means the world to me.

My add-on this month was one of the February 2021 Book of the Month options, Honey Girl by Morgan Rodgers. I can’t wait to get my fingers on this book. The cover alone is enough to make me want to pick it up, but the blurb has me even more excited.

Both books I’ve chosen for my February 2021 Book of the Month are written by Black women, which is amazing because I love supporting authors of color. Even more so considering it is Black History Month. We all know that authors of color often receive the least amount of marketing and pay from publishers. It’s important that we all do our part in supporting their work so they can receive the same recognition as their fellow writers.

  1. I went crazy with my February 1 BOTM and got 3: Honey Girl, Four Winds, and Kindest Lie! Pandemic book buying at it’s best.

    1. I love to hear it. You’re going to have a fun month 🥰 It’s the only subscription I haven’t gotten rid of.
