10 Steps To A Book Hangover

Every time I read a book that blows my mind. . . I know my life will never be the same.

I can’t be the only one.

Please tell me I’m not the only one.

Please tell me this happens to other people too.

1. Can I call into work because my emotions are fucked? Is that a thing?

2. How can this book make me feel like my life is over?

3. Why did I think my next book wouldn’t ruin me too?

4. Is it normal for a book to make me depressed?

5. The worst part is knowing no one will understand.

6. I know when a book hangover is coming when I fell like this. . .

7. Falling in love can be the best and worst thing to happen in a book.

8. I know it will be a long and lonely road to recovery.

9. My next read has to be amazing or I’ll never get over my last.

10. When it is all said and done, my life has to go on.

Remember to follow all things messy. . .

Hey there! I'm Danielle! I just a girl who loves books. I love books so much that I talk about the stories like they are real. Who knows? Maybe, they are real to me. I do love the book world, it's way better than reality. . .sometimes. . .because. . .I'm also a proud mama bear, wife, and mother!

    1. Thank you! People who don’t read can never know what it’s like. It’s rough.

      1. The struggle is real. Mine laughs at me or just flat out ignores me.

  1. No one will understand me except for you and a couple extra readers when it comes to book hangovers. Ugh, it is just too hard to explain. *lays hand over forehead and looks into the distance* I think I first got one when I was 13 (I was too young of a child to experience this), and I had read Clockwork Princess. That is when my life turned upside down. Another bad thing was that I had to go to school as my mom would not let me take a day off for my “mandatory siting in bed and wallowing about a book.” Anyway, great post.

    1. Thank you so much!!! Book hangovers are the worst. I don’t know if we ever completely get over it, we just learn to live with it. I still think about my book hangover books to this day. It’s the best/worst feeling in the world!!!
