4.5 STARS

It’s so hard to say goodbye to a series but sometimes we must. Release is the 3rd and final book of Dylan Allen’s Symbols of Love Series and it is time for me to say goodbye, but not before I order signed copies of all 3 books because I loved them so much. You can check out my review for Rise and Remember.

Release is one woman’s story on how your whole life can change within a matter of minutes, seconds really. How you can go from the life of the party to a shell of yourself.

This review is going to be nothing but pretty. . . okay maybe 5% messy because that’s just me.

First let’s hear from the author. . .

Synopsis

I’m here for pleasure.

And in paradise, I don’t have a past.
I don’t have pain, my secrets don’t haunt me and I can be anyone I want.

He’s here for business.

Harry’s intoxicatingly handsome, rich, and also the biggest jerk I’ve ever met.
So, it’s inconvenient that sparks fly every time our eyes meet.

Indulging in an affair wasn’t on my agenda.

But fate isn’t a mistress to our intentions;
And what starts as a strike of lightning on a moonlit beach ignites a fire between us that will span continents.
Meeting again in the unlikeliest of circumstances feels written in the heavens.

And I’ll need the courage of the gods to tell him the truth.
They say the truth will set you free…
But what if it destroys you first?

Three sisters. Three stories. Three broken hearts. That’s what Symbols of Love is all about. Release gives us Lilly’s story.

I have been interested in Lilly’s story from the moment I read about her in Rise. There was something mysterious about her that had me intrigued. Let me tell y’all – Lilly’s story is heart-breaking and gut-wrenching. I cried! I’m not a crier but I had tears flowing down my cheeks during this story.

That prologue. . .oh my sweet soul. I almost died. I wasn’t ready! I wasn’t ready! Dylan Allen had me hooked from the first paragraph. You have to read it to know what I mean. It was so damn emotional.

Lilly is beautiful, raw, complex, and broken. She is everything that a woman is. We’re all a little broken if you really think about it.

Harry is handsome, caring, thoughtful, and genuine. He is everything that a woman wants in her man.

Lilly is hurting on the inside something terrible and Harry has no idea how much yet sees all the good in her that she tries to hide.

“You make me feel. . .perfect,” I say to him on a sigh of pure bliss.

“To me, you are,” he whispers in my ear. – Lilly/Harry

As fate continues to bring these two together, Lilly’s heart just doesn’t know what to do. Fate was also the thing that risks taking them apart.

The type of relationship they form is not an easy one. Their pasts make them a unique pair, there are so many layers to them both.

What do you do when you want to get to know someone and they don’t have the capacity to give their heart to you? – You find a way to convince them that they are worth it. You find a way to let that person know that you are there, standing and waiting. At least that’s what we hope, right?

“Let me prove I can take care of your heart. Even better than I take care of your body” – Harry

What drew me into the story more than anything else was how broken and kind of bitchy Lilly was. Like I said, we are all a little bit broken and I can be a bitch – a sweet one, but still a bitch. I guess that’s why I wanted more than anything for her to find some peace in this crazy, fucked up world. The same world that killed so much of who was in the past.

Dylan Allen writes Release with so much passion and grace. The words bleed off of the pages, right into the readers heart.

I really hope that you will give this story a try. Release is about family, love, heartbreak and how to find yourself again after everything is taken away from you.

Do I recommend this book? Yes, very much so.

Will I read another book by this author? Yes, I look forward to it.

I told you I was going to keep it pretty and I kept my word.

Remember to follow all things messy. . .

Danielle

Hey there! I'm Danielle! I just a girl who loves books. I love books so much that I talk about the stories like they are real. Who knows? Maybe, they are real to me. I do love the book world, it's way better than reality. . .sometimes. . .because. . .I'm also a proud mama bear, wife, and mother!
