Well damn, damn, damn…..
OMG! This is a good ass book. If you haven’t read Reaper (Boston Underworld #2) by A. Zararelli you are missing out.
The Irish mob is looking sexier and sexier by the minute.
I can’t say if my review is pretty or messy, because it may look like both. But no matter what just know I loved this book. When I review it may sound like I’m talking mad shit but I’m not. I write how I speak and as if the characters are real people. Okay, so let’s get started.
As always, a word from the author….
He’s dark and mysterious. Quiet and lethal.
An Irish mobster.
Pure sin wrapped up in a beautiful package.
But there’s also something off about him.
He doesn’t feel anything. He shows no emotions.
Sometimes I question his humanity.
He hasn’t spoken to me in two years. Not a single word.
But we share a secret, he and I.
And if it ever comes out, I have no doubt in my mind…
He won’t have a problem killing me too.
I’ve slain for her. I’ll do it again.
When it comes to Sasha, there isn’t a line I won’t cross.
I watch her. She doesn’t know it.
She thinks I hate her. Sometimes, I think I might too.
But I’m always there, lurking in the shadows.
Craving her. Trying to keep the beast within at bay.
I’ll keep her safe. I’ll slaughter anyone who tries to hurt her.
The only thing I can’t do… is protect her from myself.
****This is a full-length standalone novel full of hot Irish guys with accents. Dark mafia themes throughout. HEA included.****
Now that that’s over….back to my review….
I want to talk about Ronan first – He is one crazy ass motherfucker. He didn’t get his nickname, Reaper for no reason. He is killer through and through. But damnit, I found that shit so sexy. OMG! Yassssssssss! When he walks, his body screams, “You don’t want to fuck with me.” I think I may need to see doctor because I am really loving killers way to much right now. I don’t think it’s normal.
When he has sex right next to a dead body, oh sweet baby Jesus, I wanted to jump his bones my damn self. Why did I find that sexy? Pray for me please.
Now normally I hate stalkers but he was the sexiest damn stalker I have every seen. (Yes I know this is a book and I’ve never really seen him.) But when you understand his back story it helps put things into perspective. He had one seriously fucked up childhood, if you can really call being taught how to kill from age 8 a childhood to begin with. He never had the opportunity to learn how to interact with others. He only learned how to kill them.
His loyalty is beyond amazing. I’m thinking I need to me some mob friends because they are loyal a hell and that what I need in my life.
When he didn’t know what to do with a condom, WOW!!! I almost died reading that. And what about how he just took the condom off in the middle of sex? I was like, WOW!!! He was like, “Fuck that shit. It doesn’t feel the same so I’m taking this shit off.”
I don’t know if anyone else peeped it out when Sasha said he was working with 10 inches 🍆. I know I did….
Fuck my life – I want 10 inches too 🍆!
How fucking adorable was his conversation with Mac about sex….
“I don’t know what she wants,” I tell her.
“Well that’s easy.” She shrugs. “She wants you silly.”
I look up at her and scrub my face.
“What I mean is,” I clear my throat. “I don’t know what she likes.”
Mac stops chewing and stares at me. Shame washes over me and I look away.
“Ronan,” she says in a voice that’s too high. “You’re blushing!”
I don’t reply. I think she’s going to laugh at me, but she doesn’t.
“Have you tried asking her?” Mack continues.
“Right,” she snorts. “Because you’re… well you.”
“Ye’re a girl… ” I tell her.
“A woman.” she corrects. “But yes. I am of the female variety.”
It goes on little bit more, but how freaking cute is he.
Poor Sasha, this girl has had a rough life.
She had no idea what she was getting into when first started dating, Blaine, another member of the mob. He forced her to be a stripper, beat her and used her body as his personal sex machine. He had no feelings of remorse.
Once you get involved in the mob, it’s not easy to get out – unless you are ready die. Sasha knew too much, had seen too much so there was no easy way for her to leave. So she did what she had to do. She kept working at the club and she kept her mouth shut.
Baby girl dealt with heartbreak after heart break and Ronan was always there, lurking in the shadows trying to help anyway he could. He had some “interesting” ways of helping but it was all Ronan like, so it worked.
Sasha and Ronan have this crazy, odd, weird connection that no one can explain. He’s broken, she’s broken….it’s a match made in heaven. But no, on the real, Sasha brought Ronan to life. She may not have been the strongest heroine I read about but she was definitely the right one for Ronan. Her personality was exactly what Ronan needed.
“Damaged souls have their own beauty. A dark, terrifying beauty. The same type of beauty I recognize in Ronan. He isn’t like those those other men. The ones who tell me how much they want my body. The filthy things they want to do to me.”
Sasha gave Ronan something other people didn’t give him – acceptance, letting him know that it’s okay to be himself. She never made fun of him or saw him as anything less than a man. Where others saw a psychopath, she saw a loving man. While others feared him, she craved him.
What many people fail to understand is that a man never reaches his full potential until he meets the right woman. Until that right woman comes along a man is not complete. Sasha completed Ronan.
Side note….I would have never guessed he was a virgin. OMG, that shit took me by surprise. For a man who never had sex before he figured it out well enough – with Sasha’s help of course. 10 thick wonder inches of pure heaven 🍆.
Let me say this….I don’t often find series that keep me so captivated after the first book. This one right here, yes it kept my attention until the last word and beyond.
So, I think I kept it pretty so I’m going to call it a night and start on book 3, Ghost. I can’t wait!!!!!
Now go and read this damn book….
