My 12 Favorite Reads of 2016

Share:

I’m a little late on getting my 2016 favorites reads out, but better late than never. Even though some of these books were released before 2016, I didn’t read them until 2016 so they made their way here.

This list is in no particular order because I loved them all.

I have not reviewed all of these books because I didn’t have my blog up when I read them but I plan on doing a full review soon.

So lets get messy…

Of course my girl Emma Scott is on my list, not just once but twice.

  1. Full Tilt by Emma Scottimg_0776I don’t think I will ever get over the emotional rollercoaster of this book. The feels it gave me were so real. After I read Full Tilt I didn’t pick up another book for ten days! Ten days!!!! That’s how emotional I was at the end of it. Shit, I’m still trying to heal.
  2. All In by Emma Scottimg_0809All In is the second book of the Full Tilt series and I needed to read this book as bad as I needed air. Full Tilt broke my heart and All In helped me cope and work through my grief.
  3. Endless Love Letter by Callie Andersonimg_3205This book pissed me off! I wanted to strangle Callie for doing this to me. The feelings that I had after this book was finished…you don’t even want to know. It’s crazy to think that a book that pissed me off so bad would make it on this list but that’s just how good it was. It is the second book of the series so I recommend you read Invisible Love Letter first. Click here for my review.
  4. Down Shift by K. Brombergimg_4902This book took me by surprise. I didn’t expect to like it very much so to come away loving it was EVERYTHING. Click here for my review.
  5. Reaper by A. Zararelliimg_1610I fell in love with a crazy as fuck mass murderer in this book. It was impossible not to love him. Everything about this man screamed, stay away but there is no way I could. In the book world he was my everything. Click here for my review.
  6. Harley & Rose by Carmen Jennerimg_0891This book made me want to hold a press conference to get rid of this death = romance phase so many authors seemed to attach themselves to. The writing was brilliant but Carmen still irritated the shit out of me with having the main character die. It wasn’t necessary. Click here for my review.
  7. The Man I Love by Suanne Laqueurimg_4469This chick wrote the fuck out of this book. Pure talent was all over those pages. I am not a fan of books told in the third person so I was tempted to put this down when I realized it wasn’t told from the first person. Let me tell you after a few pages I couldn’t give a rat’s ass that it was told from the third person, it was just that good. Click here for my review.
  8. Driven by K. Bromberg img_0853Colton, Colton, Colton! OMG! I feel in love/lust with this man. He was such a sexy asshole. This is one of the few books that made me fall in love someone, but not want to be with them. Rylee was PERFECT for Colton and I could never compete with that, nor would I want to.
  9. A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steinerimg_1297There were so many moments of pure frustration with this book but in the best possible way. I only had one issue with this book and that was the fact that the couple wasted years of theirs lives doing a bunch of back and forth crap. Click here for my review.
  10. Closer by Mary Elizabethimg_2843The end of this book had me going – What The Fuck? Why in the hell didn’t they warn that this crazy ass book was ending on a cliffhanger. You want to know what’s worse? The end of the book stated the second book would be out in April of 2017…that was a lie because it’s May 2017 and the book still isn’t out. Yeah, I’m pretty salty about that shit. Click here for my review.
  11. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuireimg_0854 All in all this whole series was the shit. Who knew I would come to love the nickname, “pigeon”. I’m not into young guys but Travis could get it! I hope you know what I mean by it.
  12. Sacrifice by Adriana Lockeimg_0851This book was completely outside of Adriana’s normal work and I loved every minute of it. I don’t know what I expected from this book, but it didn’t matter because what I read would have gone beyond any I could have thought of. I wish she wrote more books like this. Now that I know she has this kind of talent I want to see more of it from her.

It’s 2017 and I’ve read some pretty bad ass books so far and I look forward to sharing them with you all too.

TTYL, lovers!

Hey there! I'm Danielle! I just a girl who loves books. I love books so much that I talk about the stories like they are real. Who knows? Maybe, they are real to me. I do love the book world, it's way better than reality. . .sometimes. . .because. . .I'm also a proud mama bear, wife, and mother!

  1. Great list, love!! I loved a lot of the same books and added a few of these to my TBR.

I think I’m the only person on earth who couldn’t get into the Beautiful series by Jamie Maguire. 😔

    1. Ai no. It’s very YAish. I don’t blame you. Half the time I’m embarrassed to accept that I like that book. But those are the only good two books. The rest of the Maddox brother books are an ugly disaster. And a huge disappointment. Totally skip them.😑

  2. Beautiful disaster is on there! I still don’t know how I feel about that book. Although Travis is one of my fav bad boys lol. How come I did not read any book in that list other than beautiful disaster! Oh man. I’m bookmarking this list. I’ll consult it when I’m panting for good books😂

      1. No! I haven’t read any from your list. I don’t know how that even happened lol. I felt like I read so much last year and still missed all of these😂 and don’t talk about FSOG. The book is worse than the movie. Not that I have seen it, but I have seen enough about it to know that I guess. You really can’t make a brilliant movie from a shitty script you know.
