Every person who loves romance novels understands the beauty of hate to love romance books. There is nothing more fun than reading characters arguing and then loving. It’s great.
I was in my twenties when I first fell in love with romance novels. It was like opening up a whole new, beautiful world. I couldn’t get enough of them. I read whatever I could get my hands on. Usually, it was the only type of book you would see me reading.
.One day I came across Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren and I found a new favorite trope – hate to love romance books. A light bulb went off and I knew that I was on a mission to find any and every enemies to lovers book I could find.
Just in case you are anything like me, I compiled a list of 20 hate to love romance books you should read.
If the hate to love or enemies to lovers trope is what you adored about Beautiful Bastard or any other hate to love romance books, this is the perfect list for you.
Fingers crossed you find a hate to love romance book on this list that will bring a smile to your face as so many did for me.
Hate to Love Romance Books

The Simple Wild
The story is a slow burn romance where the main characters are kind of enemies but become fast, bantering friends in the midst of a personal crisis unfolding that affects them both drastically. The setting lends itself as another character in the story since the author so beautifully describes life in Alaska. K.A. Tucker makes readers feel as if they are actually a part of this story. The secondary characters bring more richness to the story as well. Read More→

The Score
Dean and Allie did this for me. Their story was an enjoyable read, and Kennedy captured not only sexual chemistry between the two characters but chemistry in the other moments, too. They were enchanting to read together, and while it seemed unlikely to me that Dean, of all people, would suddenly fall like this for a girl upon reading the book’s description, it just WORKED. And I freaking loved it. Read More→

Where I Belong
The characters in this story go from bitter rivals to something more. When she goes to visit her best friend, the boy who tormented her growing up has turned into someone she never expected. After a one night stand that neither can get out of their mind, he tries to win her affections by showing he’s a changed man. She tries to forget about the only man who has ever had a piece of her but can’t help but see that maybe there’s more to him than the mean boy she grew up with. This was a cute and fun book I suggest you read with steamy sex thrown in. Read More→

Ugly Love
Miles oh Miles, I loved, then hated then fell hopelessly and completely in utter LOVE with him…… My heart literally was broken for him most of this book and it was so hard to not to get angry with him but I did at times. Tate, I LOVED her from start to finish. Yes, I get from other reviewers they wished she would have acted differently at certain times but to me, she was just so real, so genuine, so warm hearted and YES my heart broke for her as well through most of the book but she was true t her character, at least to me she was. Bully
I have wanted to read this book for such a very long time. I don’t know why I waited so long because this story was so good. From the very first page, the book grabbed my attention and I just wanted to know how this would end. At first, I will be honest I had mixed feelings for Jared. He made me frustrated and I usually like jerks but he was up high up on a new level of them but I still found myself desperate for answers to know why he was such a jerk. Read More→

Ex Games
This book was just so darn fun. It played out like a movie, each scene more addicting than the last. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and had a grin from ear to ear the whole time I was reading. And can I just add that Stella Rhys can write steam like a #BOSS? OMG! Insanely dirty combustible steam! This book was absolute perfection and laugh-out-loud funny. I can’t recommend it enough. This author will now be on my radar as I need more of her stories! Read More→

I Hate You
There’s just something about that connection that you have when you’ve found that person that gets you, your weird quirks and words. When it comes to Charisma and Blaze…what can I say. These two had the push and pull that made your heart skip a beat. These two both had misconceptions of what love is. One was scared to be in love and the other didn’t know what it was to be loved and love. Sports romance that pulls you in from the beginning, makes you laugh, makes you wish they’d speak what’s in their hearts. Read More→

Man Card
It can never happen again. I don’t even like Sebastian. He’s too slick. He’s a manipulating mansplaining party boy in preppy clothes. So why can’t I get him out of my head? Read More→

Fight or Flight
Fight or Flight is a fun romantic comedy centered on two very different people who decide to have a layover one night stand after arguing and pestering each other during a flight. Beautiful Bastard
I don’t mind easy cheap romances. Ones with descriptive settings and in-depth character development. I figured this would be cheesy and a quick pass of time. Well, I was wrong on the former and correct on the latter. It was quick and to the point and really focused on the “in the moment” reactions and feelings of the characters. I didn’t even mind that there wasn’t a whole lot of backstory or description of surroundings. Read More→

Enemies
Such a good story. I’m fairly new to reading Tijan’s books but I do believe this will be my favorite. There were so many emotional ups and downs and I feel like these characters changed in a realistic way. Sometimes I would get irritated with someone for being so slow to change but that’s the way. I really loved how everything worked out and I can’t wait for Tijan’s next story. Read More→

Wallbanger
This book was awesome!! So funny and sexy and romantic! I literally laughed out loud while reading. I woke up my husband a couple of times because I couldn’t stop laughing. Needless to say he thinks I’m crazy but that’s neither here nor there. I love when a good romance story can be sexy and funny. To me, that is just golden, especially when you’re looking for something that will keep you in a light mood. Read More→

The Hating Game
If you’re looking for a light read with several doses of comedy this is the book for you! All this ‘hate’ apparently results in sexual tension and lust; and after a steamy kiss in the office elevator, everything between Lucy and Josh changes. Character development was somewhat lacking. I had a hard time grasping Lucy’s identity and Josh is basically just a muscly-hunk that is brooding and terrifying.
This book is not ‘deep’, but it sure is fun! Read More→ Book Review→

The Deal
This book was laugh out loud funny, with great characters. Garret is adorable and makes me laugh when he tries to annoy Hannah. I enjoyed this book so much, and I love that there were actual Hockey playing in this book. I’m now ready to read the rest of this series because all of the other characters were interesting and not just background characters. My suggestion is you need to read this book and don’t put it off another minute. Read More→

The Unhoneymooners
A cute love story about a couple who hates each other then falls hard. I like the funny banter between the main characters and the main character is part of a big Hispanic family and some things were just funny and so spot on. I read it in one sitting though and mostly enjoyed myself! Read More→
