I’m not big on just writing reviews on books here at Pretty Mess Reading, but coming up with new ideas to blog about can be difficult. I’ve searched around the interent for inspiration and created a list of 15 Blog Post Ideas that I’m going to try out. I thought it also might be fun to share them with you. Fingers crossed that you find them helpful.

Review books outside of your book niche
Varity is the spice of life, right? Many of your blog followers are interested in more than just gerne of books and sharing a review of those books can be fun for you and your readers.

Tell us the story of how you fell in love with books.
We all have our reasons for making books one of the favorite things in our lives, tell us about yours. Your love for books just might inspire someone else to join our serect book addict club.

Film/TV Adaptations: Love ‘em or hate ‘em?
I know I have strongs when my favorite stories are made into movies or tv shows. Whether they get them right or wrong is a serious thing to me – Tell your readers what you think.

Get away from your laptop for inspiration.
- Listen to a podcast
- Have conversatins with friends
- Walk around your neiborhood
- Go to the movies

Do a book haul
I know you had some delievers this month of some great books to share. Did you visit a new book store? How about the library? Tell us about it.

Review an event that you attended
If you are like me then you’ve been to a book signing or two. Tell your readers all about. Tell them what you learned and who was an asshole.

Why do you love blogging
Blogging isn’t as easy as people think it is. There is something inside of us that drives you to keep going. Let your readers know all about it. We love it. We’re nosey! Okay, I’m nosey. But that doesn’t make it lest valid.

Do an Instagram roundup of your favorite accounts
This one is just fun! There are loads and loads of beautiful IG accounts. I’m sure you can find mind-blowing ones to share with your readers.

GIFs
GIFs are not only fun, it’s unique and eye-catching to your readers. Post a book review using nothing but GIFs.

Share some quotes.
What are some of your favorite quotes from “X, Y, Z” books? Quotes are awesome. Quotes are beautiful. We should share them more often.

Compare your current spouse to a book character
I don’t know about you but sometimes I wish my husband was more like one of my book boyfriends. He may not be just like them but there are similarities from time to time. Tell your readers about yours.

Share your greatest strengths and weaknesses
This one is awesome because it doesn’t have to be limited to books. Your readers want to get to know YOU. Let them! Become more than just a person behind a keyboard – be the person that connects with your readers.

Deal breakers
What are some flat out no-go’s when it comes to your reading choices. Do you hate dragons or cheating or killings, etc.? You get the point.

Product review and/or comparison
Here’s an example of what I mean. . . I have bought several book sleeves from different companies and some just fucking suck. Tell us what you think about something.

An ICYMI (In Case You Missed It) post to an old blog post
Do you have a post that was crazy popular in the past? Re-blog the damn thing. You have new followers who want to read it to. Trust me when I tell, they are not going back that far to look for it.
